yrGeoView’, a new, easy-to-use, interactive map viewer showing Regional government information is available effective February 3, 2010.
  
yrGeoView (pronounced [your geo view] for York Region Geography Viewer)
  • click on the “Maps” link on the Region’s home page
  • access yrGeoView today directly by visiting www.york.ca/maps
  • access all the other mapping products, applications, and services in the yrGeo suite (formerly known as YorkExplorer) through the same link
yrGeoView:
  • new, fast-drawing maps and aerial imagery
  • easy to recognize and navigate
  • zoom in and out, move around
  • shows York Region and surrounding areas
  • similar to Google Maps and Bing Maps
  • the most current data available for the Region

The first map in yrGeoView is the Regional base map, displaying roads, parks, schools, police stations and more.

yrGeoView is an evolution in mapping services and York Region will make more official Regional geographic information available in the future, so please check back often.
